ABOUT KATHYRN

Hi, I’m Kathryn! I’m a Counselor, mother of two beautiful boys, and wife. I’m also a friend, daughter, and believer in changing one’s circumstances. I use my formal training and life experiences to help others of all ages to obtain the life they want and to work through their unique struggles. I do this by creating a safe place to achieve compassion, learning acceptance, identifying triggers, normalizing the feeling of pain, and allowing for opportunities to heal by being vulnerable.

Once we learn to be grounded in the present moment, we can create freedom in one’s life and explore past experiences, give ourselves second chances, learn what motivates each person, be brave, grow through self-discovery, and give ourselves permission to change. You are worthy of support. By reframing, you can learn to accept, reflect, and cultivate the tools needed for healing and growth. I believe in people and their ability to create joy in their lives. Change becomes possible through introspection, healing, intentionality, being truthful, and by being honest with yourself. It allows you to take responsibility for your emotions and communicate what you need and want in life.

When struggling in life, it is important to reach out for help. To find a person that allows for a safe place to be vulnerable. As humans, we seek connections, especially during a healing journey. As humans, we are not meant to heal alone. It takes being vulnerable to explore the layers of grief and trauma and to work through the issues we are having to uncover new meaning and a new life.

I enjoy helping guide others through their unique journeys. It is important to live the life you want and not let others paint the picture for you. I believe compassion and gratitude are essential in building a life full of passion and love. I find that having the right tools, learning to be gentle with yourself, and learning coping skills throughout life will help in achieving goals, building lasting relationships, and obtaining a positive image of self.

I have a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from the University of Saint Mary. I have a Bachelor of Science from Missouri Western State University and three Minors in Child Development, Legal Studies, and Criminal Justice. Additionally, I am training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.
