I am in my final year of a Master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Missouri. I chose to study social work to improve my understanding of helping others in need of resolving internal conflict in their daily lives. The courses I have taken focus on interventions to help children, those with substance dependency, and trauma. I hope to utilize my skills to empower others to reconnect to their support systems and communities. I am guided by strengths-based and trauma-informed frameworks when supporting others in their growth for better mental and physical health.

 

I have over ten years of experience serving others. This includes helping court-involved youth, adults with substance dependency, children and adults with mental and behavioral health challenges, and my current role as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for people with disabilities. I have demonstrated empathy and care for others’ well-being in these roles. I will continue to extend this same care and understanding in a therapeutic setting.
